ON THE MARCH<br />

We confessed s<strong>in</strong>s and pleaded for <strong>our</strong> households and bus<strong>in</strong>esses.<br />

Rufus and the two Steves visited other houses, br<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong>g<br />

the message of repentance. Sparks flew when a few elders<br />

resisted this <strong>in</strong>put, but the revivalists were undeterred. Zion<br />

was go<strong>in</strong>g to be cleansed.<br />

The tide began to turn. Some brothers were pray<strong>in</strong>g at Cornhill<br />

when, around two <strong>in</strong> the morn<strong>in</strong>g, Steve ‘Genu<strong>in</strong>e’ broke<br />

<strong>in</strong>to a chuckle. Then he laughed and laughed. The joy of the<br />

Lord came on them; the other Steve trembled and shook, and<br />

Rufus was prostrated and overcome.<br />

Cornhill caught the fire, and when one of their sisters attended<br />

her disciple band at V<strong>in</strong>eyard the flame spread. It was<br />

electric. They prayed, wept and sang <strong>in</strong> tongues. Mike ‘Rockfast’<br />

had found a breakthrough too and late that night came<br />

home to V<strong>in</strong>eyard with a sense of expectancy. He found the<br />

disciple band leader aglow, and, as others jo<strong>in</strong>ed them they<br />

began to pray. When one sister entered the room she cried<br />

out because of the presence of God.<br />

‘Mike came up,’ wrote one brother, ‘and said, “Come down<br />

quick! The Lord’s do<strong>in</strong>g someth<strong>in</strong>g.” We rose and dressed,<br />

and found the sisters call<strong>in</strong>g on God. I felt a flood of the Spirit<br />

and fell on my face. “Lord!” I cried, “I feel like Jonah who<br />

must be thrown overboard!” It felt like white light. S<strong>in</strong> was<br />

<strong>in</strong>stantly exposed and you either broke down or hardened<br />

up. My s<strong>in</strong>s were so many I thought they would br<strong>in</strong>g judgement<br />

on the house. We cont<strong>in</strong>ued pray<strong>in</strong>g for h<strong>our</strong>s, and one<br />

sister all night.’<br />

The next even<strong>in</strong>g after Agape, a sister wrote <strong>in</strong> her diary:<br />

‘We gathered as soon as possible. Even the children confessed<br />
