days later he keeled over and was rushed to hospital with a<br />

collapsed lung. They discovered a blood clot.<br />

Roy was <strong>in</strong> a bad way, so Maggie rang her friends and alerted<br />

the prayer watch. In a couple of days he was sitt<strong>in</strong>g up <strong>in</strong> bed<br />

and gr<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g at the doctor. The X-rays and tests showed perfect<br />

blood and his high blood pressure had disappeared.<br />

Soon there were f<strong>our</strong> servant groups <strong>in</strong> Stoke. The local<br />

Teen Challenge used <strong>our</strong> Lifenews, but a pentecostal deputation<br />

warned them aga<strong>in</strong>st <strong>our</strong> ‘heretical’ practices. We carried<br />

on undeterred and John’s little house <strong>in</strong> Stoke soon became<br />

a sanctuary of friendship, praise and chip-butties.<br />

In May we established the ‘Eagles W<strong>in</strong>gs’ household at Milton<br />

Keynes. Apart from the lovely gardens, the house had<br />

gold plated taps <strong>in</strong> the bathroom and goldfish <strong>in</strong> the pond!<br />

The follow<strong>in</strong>g month we bought another substantial property,<br />

‘Firstfruits’, <strong>in</strong> Nott<strong>in</strong>gham.<br />

Servant groups extended <strong>our</strong> work. ‘Search groups’ roamed<br />

free and ‘Strike groups’ aimed at distant towns. We followed<br />

any lead. One day two of the Farm teenagers vanished with a<br />

tent and were soon relax<strong>in</strong>g with their ice creams on the east<br />

coast. Eventually some brothers came to collect them, but on<br />

the way home they had a clear prompt<strong>in</strong>g to evangelise <strong>in</strong><br />

Yarmouth. As a result, two people showed <strong>in</strong>terest and the<br />

next week there were three more. All these were converted<br />

and began to visit the Farm. Thus was born the Yarmouth<br />

household.<br />

One team went to the Glastonbury Festival and pitched their<br />

tents. As the heavy rock pounded day and night, they moved<br />

amongst crowds, chatt<strong>in</strong>g with people and shar<strong>in</strong>g the gospel.<br />

A Christian lady who lived nearby met them while she<br />
