only on aggressive evangelism, wrote Noel, were often<br />

restless, dissatisfied, and rarely successful: To be effective<br />

light <strong>in</strong> this nation, God’s people must enter the Sabbath<br />

rest of k<strong>in</strong>gdom life, and the Jubilee that God has provided.’<br />

At Harvest House Mick ‘Temperate’ was keen to reach the<br />

unconverted.<br />

‘I want you to lead Zion’s evangelism,’ the ‘still small voice’<br />

said to him one morn<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

‘You what, Lord?’ he thought. ‘Me? Oh well, if it’s of God it<br />

will come together, and the brethren will confirm it.’<br />

Mick led some <strong>in</strong>formal ‘new life’ meet<strong>in</strong>gs at Harvest<br />

House. A few Christians soon jo<strong>in</strong>ed us, but more and more<br />

his burden was for the lost. One day, while pray<strong>in</strong>g, he saw a<br />

golden city. The gates opened wide and a band of glow<strong>in</strong>g<br />

figures descended <strong>in</strong>to the valley below, where they m<strong>in</strong>gled<br />

with the wounded and brought some back to be healed. A<br />

sister had similar wisdom of golden doves fly<strong>in</strong>g out of Zion<br />

with the message of peace despite attacks by the black crows<br />

of the world.<br />

In August Mick took a team to the Knebworth Rock Festival.<br />

They parked their converted ambulance, and soon a young<br />

man pitched his tent nearby. He made friends with them and<br />

marvelled at their message. Their gentle vibe of love contrasted<br />

with the heavy beat that throbbed <strong>in</strong>to the night. He<br />

threw his cigarettes away, stuck with them, and gave his life<br />

to Christ.<br />

A few days later Mick was listen<strong>in</strong>g to Noel at the elders’<br />

meet<strong>in</strong>g. ‘Of c<strong>our</strong>se, there’s noth<strong>in</strong>g very difficult about be-<br />
