Students receive intervention on
Fridays and after school – teachers
focus on specific grammar and
rhetoric skills based on practice
ACT results. Each student also
received a series of ACT practice
in preparation for the March 5
ACT.
Students receive intervention on
Fridays and after school - lower
class sizes, differentiated
instruction, and regrouping. Each
student also received a series of
weekly ACT practice lessons via
their HAWKS advisor in
preparation for the March 5 ACT.
Additionally, students received
weekly ACT preparation sessions
in their Math classes leading up to
the March 5 test date.
Students took a practice ACT
assessment with specific skill
reports – students’ English
scores increased by an average
of .66 points. Data from the
March 5 ACT will be analyzed
upon receiving the results.
Students in Algebra 2 will be
exited from the Intervention
group if the student is meeting
standards and passing the class
with an A or B in addition to
EPAS-like assessments. Data
from the March 5 ACT will be
analyzed upon receiving the
results.
Teacher will continue to use the
detailed practice ACT data to
develop intervention lessons.
Results of March 5 ACT will be
used to assess effectiveness of
current systems and evaluate
progress toward meeting
SMART goals related to the
ACT.
Students not meeting standards
will be moved into an
intervention for math by
recommendation of their current
teacher. Advanced Algebra 2 is
2 trimesters and Honors Algebra
2 is three trimesters. Results of
March 5 ACT will be used to
assess effectiveness of current
systems and evaluate progress
toward meeting SMART goals
related to the ACT.
