Upholding the Law

There are people who break the law and
think that they can get away from the
consequences. These people don’t truly care
about what happens to others, as long as
they have a good time. That is why
communities have prosecutors. They fight
for those who have been hurt. A
Prosecutor’s main objective is to prove,
without a shadow of a doubt, that someone
is guilty. Also, it is their job to make sure
that criminals are punished to the fullest
extent of the law possible. Prosecutors fight
for justice.
Defense Lawyers are another part of
the system to up hold the laws of the court.
Defense lawyers try to prove that the
prosecutors’ case is not one hundred percent
true. They represent the party who is being
charged by the prosecutor in a court of law.
Defense lawyers insure that the party that is
being charged by the prosecutor gets a fair
trial, as well as showing people that there is
no possible method that you could have
committed the horrible crime.
There will always be a need for some
kind of lawyer in our society. Lawyers
represent you and your best interests. Civil
suit lawyers can help you to receive money
for damages done to your property. The civil
lawyers who bring charges against you are
called Plaintiff. Plaintiffs represent those
who have been injured by someone who has
been acting criminally negligent.
When someone acts criminally
negligent, it means that they know what they
are doing is wrong; they just don’t truly care
that it could harm another human in some
way or another. Also, they don’t care if they
destroy your personal property. Civil suit
lawyers can help you to get restitution,
which the individual who has caused some
kind of damage has to pay to you.
To become one of the many types of
a lawyer, you must take an exam called the
Bar Exam. Each state has their own
requirements to pass the Bar exam. Once
you pass the Bar exam, you are licensed to
practice within that state only. You cannot
go to another state to practice law without
passing their bar exam. The only state that
you are allowed to practice law in is
Washington DC. You should learn about
what state you want to practice law in, and
find out what you have to do. In Wisconsin,
you don’t have to take the bar exam as long
as you graduated from a college within that
state.
In Kentucky only two colleges have
a law school. The University of Louisville
and the University of Kentucky; they are
some of the finest colleges anyone could
attend. Louisville law school is the fifth
oldest law school in the United States, and is
named Brandeis. He was a United States
Supreme Court justice, from Kentucky. He
is buried on the law schools grounds.
There will always be a need for
lawyers so people will be represented in a
court of law if they choose to. People will
try to break the law no matter what.
Lawyers will always have a job to do to
protect the interests of people to the best of
their abilities.
