Introducing <strong>St</strong>. Vincent’s 2 East Open Heart Progressive Care<br />

<strong>St</strong>. Vincent’s 2 East Open Heart Progressive<br />
Care Unit is a 26-bed nursing unit that uses<br />
cardiac telemetry monitoring to provide nursing<br />
care to adult inpatients and 23-hour observation<br />
patients. Nursing care is provided<br />
for surgical patients from the first post-op day<br />
through discharge. Care is also provided for<br />
high risk patients requiring intravenous antiarrhythmic<br />
and low dose vasoactive drugs and<br />
those with myocardial infarction, pacemakers,<br />
congestive heart failure, CVA, cardiomyopathy<br />
and dysrhythmias.<br />
Leadership on the unit includes Connie<br />
Michener, Nurse Manager, Linda Burkert,<br />
ANM, and Carmen Abate, ANM.<br />
Our department’s slogan is: We care for your<br />
heart with our caring hearts.<br />
