SVMC Emergency Department Associates Send
Care Packages to Troops
Brenda White, RN at St. Vincent’s emergency
department, had such an overwhelming sense of
gratitude for our troops serving abroad that she
decided to give back. White told her co-workers about
wanting to ship care packages to our troops and soon
she had her own Army of helpers gathering items to
donate to soldiers!
Their gifts of toiletries, snacks and many other
niceties filled six boxes – one that was completely
filled with chocolate! The associates also made small
and large greeting cards, filled with special messages
of gratitude and encouragement. The care packages
were shipped through Harvest Ministries to a
squadron with Jacksonville troops in Afghanistan.
Pictured with some of the care packages sent to Afghanistan are SVMC ED and administrative staff
Support the 2010 Marine Run
Yellow-shirted SVHC
volunteers served cool water
to 2,500 Marines who
participated in last year’s
race.
SVHC associates are invited
to support the Marine Run
by manning the water station
in front of SVHC. The
runners will pass SVMC two
times.
This is a great opportunity
for teens who need community
service hours. Friends
and family are welcome to
join the fun.
• No money to collect —
no fundraising.
• Just come hand out water
and cheer the runners on.
• Enjoy a live band,
coffee and pastries and all
the excitement.
• Free Marine Run t-shirts
for volunteers
Following the race, all volunteers
are invited to a “Special
Thank You Party” with great
food, party beverages, fun
activities and Marine equipment
at Metropolitan Park.
It’s all free!
