In this issue, we get to know David Pringle. Q. What is your position and what are your primary responsibilities? A. Executive Vice President Mission Integration Q. How long have you been with SVHC? A. Since June 2009 Q. What do you like best about your position? A. The opportunity to work with so many talented individuals such as my wonderful team of direct reports and all those whom I have come to know during this past year. Also the opportunity to creatively express the Mission through Strategic, Operational, and Behavioral Mission Integration initiatives. 2 SEPTEMBER 2010 Q. What activities do you enjoy in your free time? A. Spending time with my wife doing anything or nothing at all, working on the house and in the yard, travel to the Caribbean, entertaining friends, fine dining, etc. Q. Do you have one “nugget of wisdom” you’d like to share with our readers? A. Find and surround yourself with people who energize you, in whose presence you feel that you are and can be more than you ever thought you could be, who affirm you and your gifts and who would never bring you into a downward spiral by criticizing others. By Elaine Murtha System Director Medical Imaging, Radiation Oncology & Rehabilitation Services MRI Services at SLH and SVMC Awarded Three Year ACR Accreditation MRI services at St. Luke’s and St. Vincent’s have received three year American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation. ACR accreditation measures the quality of the service including radiologist and technologist qualifications, equipment operation, image quality and quality control. Congratulations to St. Luke’s Medical Imaging Manager Suzy Veal, MRI Technologist AnnaMarie Morrissey, and the DI Radiologists for a job well done! Congratulations to St. Vincent’s Medical Imaging Manager Al Grant, MRI team leader Janelle Beasley, and the McClow, Clark & Berk Radiologists for a job well done! Breast Health Center at SVMC Awarded Three Year ACR Accreditation St. Vincent’s Breast Health Center was awarded three year ACR Accreditation. Congratulations to the BHC associates for successfully completing the on-site MQSA survey for digital mammography. The surveyor commented that the conversion from film/screen to digital technology was “exceptional” and that he is always impressed with the high quality of the entire breast imaging process at St. Vincent’s. Congratulations to St. Vincent’s Breast Health Services Manager Jill Nelson, Lead Quality Technologist Chris Boyd, Lead Technologist Donna Tomaino, Dr. Toledo, and all of the associates in the Breast Health Center for a job well done!

Winning Baskets Announced for SVMC Basket Challenge By Phyllis Appleby Community Relations It was very hard this year for our judges to pick a winner from the 30 very creative baskets entered in St. Vincent’s Basket Challenge and Silent Auction. In fact, we felt the need to create a Special 3rd Place because the baskets were so outstanding. Thank you to all of the departments who created such great baskets and thank you to everyone who came and participated in the Basket Challenge. A special thank you to our judges as well. This year’s SV Basket Challenge raised about $2500. Way to go! She will be leaving St. Vincent’s HealthCare after more than 11 years of dedicated service in the Pastoral Care Department. Sr. Lucie will truly be missed by all those who have come to know her. Her new role in Emmitsburg will be as Basilica Sacristan effective October 4, 2010. We will have a reception for Sr. Lucie Thai, D.C., on Wednesday, September 29, at 2 p.m. in the River Lounge.
