8 Sending and Receiving Records<br />

NOTE: Sending and receiving functions are available on<br />

Eclipse units equipped with SCP-ECG capability. You may use<br />

a remote connection with either an internal or an external<br />

modem or a direct connection with another Eclipse or a<br />

compatible ECG management system.<br />

Eclipse 850 and Plus units with communication capabilities can receive<br />

requisitions, as well as transmit ECGs to and receive ECGs from other Eclipse<br />

electrocardiographs or the PYRAMIS ECG management system.<br />

How record status affects the sending operations<br />

Record status affects whether records can be sent from the Eclipse. The<br />

following rules apply:<br />

l<br />

Records with status Dm can not be sent.<br />

l Records with status Rv can not be sent.<br />

In general, the following records will automatically be sent when BATCH<br />

SEND ECGS is selected in the DIRECTORY menu: records with the status<br />

ECG; records with the status ECG and Pr; records with the status RtE; and<br />

records with the status RtE and Pr. The following rules also apply:<br />

Records with status St or Rq will not be sent when BATCH SEND<br />

ECGS is selected in the DIRECTORY menu. These records may be<br />

sent individually from the Single ECG Functions list.<br />

Records with status, No, will not be sent when BATCH SEND<br />

ECGS is selected in the DIRECTORY menu. These records may be<br />

sent individually from the Single ECG Functions list.<br />

Changing Record Status<br />

Patient records can be marked so that they are automatically sent when<br />

BATCH SEND ECGS is selected in the DIRECTORY menu. Similarly, patient<br />

record status can be changed to ensure that a record is not sent.<br />

Mark Record as “SEND”<br />

To ensure that a record is sent the next time BATCH SEND ECGS is selected,<br />

select the MARK RECORD AS ÒSENDÓ from the Single ECG Functions list.<br />
