Chapter 7
Managing Patient Records
Record Status
The status of each record is indicated in the last column of the directory
contents.
The status of a record is important, especially when transmitting and receiving
records from another electrocardiograph or ECG management system (for
more information, see ÒHow record status affects the sending operationsÓ on
pg. 8-1). Record status also can affect which records are retained in the event
that the directory is full (see ÒAutomatic deletion when the Directory is fullÓ
on pg. 7-3).
Use the table below to understand the record status associated with each code.
Code Record Status Explanation of Status
Pr Printed The Auto ECG record has been printed by the
Eclipse electrocardiograph.
Dm Demographics Only The record contains only patient demographic
information. The record does not contain an
ECG report.
St Sent The record has been sent to another
electrocardiograph or to an ECG Management
System, such as the PYRAMIS System or the
FAA System.
No Do Not Send The record was manually marked so that the
record will not be sent the next time that
BATCH SEND ECGS is selected in the
DIRECTORY menu.
Rv Received The record was received from another
electrocardiograph or from an ECG
Management System, such as the PYRAMIS
System or the FAA System.
Rq Requisition The record contains only patient demographic
information. An ECG report is being requested
for this patient by the ECG data management
system.
ECG 12-Lead The record contains a 12-lead ECG.
RtE Alternate Chest Lead The record contains an Alternate Chest Lead
(non-standard) ECG.
On Eclipse Plus and Eclipse 850 units with communications, it is possible to
change the status of certain records. With this feature, users can ensure that
certain records are sent and other records are not sent when BATCH SEND
ECGS is selected in the DIRECTORY menu (for more information, see
ÒChanging Record StatusÓ on pg. 8-1).
