Troubleshooting
To reduce electrical interference:
4 Keep the power cord away from the patient and patient
cable.
4 Connect the unit to a properly grounded wall outlet.
4 Arrange the patient cable leads together, closely following
the body contour.
4 Check the line Þlter setting in the SYSTEM SETUP menu.

4 Ensure that Diathermy or X-ray equipment in adjacent
rooms is not operating. Other electrical equipment
including electric beds, televisions, and lighting Þxtures
may also generate interference (even when not in use).
4 Try moving the patient to another place in the room.
Sometimes, electrical wiring in walls and ceilings causes
interference.
4 Operate the Eclipse from battery power.
The Defibrillation Recovery filter
NOTE: The DeÞbrillation Recovery Þlter should be used only
for enhanced recovery time after deÞbrillation to conÞrm the
presence of cardiac activity. While this Þlter is enabled,
waveforms printed are not of diagnostic quality. Care must be
taken by the operator to not misinterpret the patientÕs condition
during an ÒOVERLOADÓ condition.
The Eclipse provides a DeÞbrillation Recovery Þlter for faster recovery time
from an ÒOVERLOADÓ condition caused by deÞbrillation (see
ÒÒOVERLOADÓ messageÓ on pg. 10-4).
This Þlter is enabled by pressing the ÒBÓ key. Do this only after deÞbrillation
and only if the trace does not recover. When the Þlter is enabled, the Sensor
Status message in the PREVIEW screen displays ÒFAILÓ and ÒOVERLOADÓ is
printed on the report. After approximately 30 seconds, the Þlter clears and the
Eclipse returns to normal operation.
