Troubleshooting<br />

PROBLEM<br />

Fax function is not working.<br />

Several functions in the DIRECTORY<br />

menu are unavailable and appear gray.<br />

PROBABLE CAUSE<br />

- Verify that the phone number and<br />

description Þelds are correctly Þlled<br />

in. These are accessed through the<br />

FAX ECG menu.<br />

- Verify that the correct connection type<br />

is selected in the SYSTEM SETUP<br />

menu.<br />

- If MODEM is selected for the<br />

Connection Þeld, verify that the<br />

Phone # Þeld is correctly Þlled in.<br />

These are found in the SYSTEM<br />

SETUP menu.<br />

Troubleshooting Trace Problems<br />

PROBLEM<br />

Waveforms are ßat for all leads and/or<br />

ÒOVERLOADÓ message will not clear.<br />

Waveform is ßat for one or more leads<br />

(all others are OK) and/or<br />

ÒOVERLOADÓ message will not clear.<br />

Baseline is drifting in waveform for one<br />

or more leads.<br />

PROBABLE CAUSE<br />

- Electrodes not applied correctly.<br />

- Acquiring ECG too quickly; wait for<br />

the message, ÒSENSORS OKÓ before<br />

pressing the ECG key.<br />

- Patient cable not properly connected<br />

to unit.<br />

- Faulty patient cable.<br />

- Electrical interference from an<br />

external source is causing noise<br />

spikes.<br />

- Electrode not applied correctly.<br />

- Acquiring ECG too quickly; wait for<br />

the message, ÒSENSORS OKÓ before<br />

pressing the ECG key.<br />

- Electrode not adhering properly.<br />

- Electrode is being pulled, tapped or<br />

pressed.<br />

- Electrode disconnected from patientÕs<br />

skin.<br />

- Lead wire disconnected from<br />

electrode.<br />

- Debris in teeth of astroclip.<br />

- Faulty lead wire(s) or patient cable.<br />

- Poor patient preparation.<br />

- Use of dissimilar sensors or sensors<br />

not recommended for use with<br />

Eclipse .<br />

- Sensors need to sit longer on skin.<br />

- Poor sensor contact with skin.<br />
