The <strong>Nu</strong><strong>Wave</strong> <strong>Oven</strong> is 100% RoHS compliant! RoHS stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous<br />
substances in electrical and electronic equipment". The RoHS Directive took effect on July 1, 2006, and it<br />
bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than the<br />
allowed levels of 6 types of potentially harmful heavy metals including lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent<br />
chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.<br />
Currently there are no environmental laws which require anyone in the Australia to abide by these<br />
guidelines; however, we have made a conscious decision more than a year and a half ago to voluntarily<br />
follow this directive for the manufacture of our <strong>Nu</strong><strong>Wave</strong> <strong>Oven</strong>s as we wanted to do our part to help preserve<br />
the environment.<br />
