Organized by the Tourist Board of Umag – Novigrad Cluster and the Tourist Board of the County of
Istria, a competition of all Istrian taverns, listed in the Istrian gourmet guide, in the preparation of
asparagus dishes will be held.

Asparagus is a top culinary delicacy that has been recognized in these parts since a long time ago.
Šparogada has been held in Kaštel for a long period of time, arranging the preparation and degustation
of domestic specialties based on asparagus, as well as other cultural and entertainment activities.

International tennis championship for players under 18 years of age is traditionally held on the tennis

“Ante Babić” Open University and “Fulvio Tomizza” Italian Union in Umag are the organizers of the
International Monodrama Festival where, among others, Moni Ovadia with the monodrama “Prolet”
will perform.

05.04. Smrčkijada (Festivity of the Mushroom Morel), Umag
A presentation of a unique kind of mushroom also known as Smrčak (morel). Experts and mushroom
lovers will answer visitors’ questions. There will be a degustation of mushroom-based meals and a
musical program.

For the third year in a row, Cro Fish, a fishery and fishing equipment fair, takes place in the bay of
Umag, and is organized by the City of Umag and Istria County under the auspices of the Ministry of
Agriculture.

The Traditional School of Children’s Artistic Creation, unique in Croatia, will for the 19 th time gather
about 300 talented children from all over Croatia in twenty creative workshops. This year as well,

At Nova obala in Umag the Flower Fair is held for the 11 th time, every year attracting a larger number
of exhibitors. Seedlings and beautiful flowers can be bought at the fair and this year there will be an
international florist competition in the making of floral installations on the given topic - Flora Festival.

The “Golden Lion” Festival is a selected review of modern theatre with a given subject based on the
multicultural spirit of Istria.

Live broadcast of the final match of the tennis tournament ATP Studena Croatia Open Umag will be
broadcasted on the big screen (4x5 m) in Trg slobode in Umag. After the ending of the final match
you will be entertained by the band “No Problem”.

This year as well, the traditional jazz festival under the supervision of Boško Petrović will host

entertainers will try to bring smiles to children’s faces.

Sepomaja is an area in Istria populated from the antique period: Zambratija, Sipar, Katoro, Muntarol
(Northwestern Istria), as it stands in the TABULA PEUTINGERIANA. The Nights of Antiquity are
intended to be an interactive multimedia program, the backbone of which is scientific research.
