The capacity range is for dry air with 60°F (15°C) seal water. Cooler<br />

seal water will result in higher capacities.<br />

Capacities for gas mixtures saturated with condensable vapor will<br />

be higher than shown by these curves.<br />

Two stage conical <strong>vacuum</strong> <strong>pumps</strong><br />

The L_800 are highly reliable <strong>and</strong> efficient <strong>vacuum</strong> <strong>pumps</strong>. These<br />

<strong>pumps</strong> with their integral two stage rotors are able to condense vapors<br />

that come off the process <strong>and</strong> to recover or dispose of them.<br />

Suitable for low pressure applications<br />

The L_800 are designed to operate at very low suction pressure<br />

levels (less than 10 torr) with low vapor pressure seal <strong>liquid</strong>s.<br />

In many applications this translates into considerable operational<br />

savings by reducing the number of stages on hybrid systems.<br />

For example, a three stage jet system with glycol as motive <strong>and</strong><br />

seal <strong>liquid</strong> can be reduced to a two stage system.<br />

Material <strong>and</strong> mechanical seal options<br />

The L_800 <strong>pumps</strong> can be supplied in cast iron, ductile iron or<br />

stainless steel construction to meet your process requirements.<br />

Single mechanical shaft seals are provided as st<strong>and</strong>ard in the<br />

stainless <strong>pumps</strong>. However, all L_800 <strong>pumps</strong> can be fitted with<br />

single or double, cartridge or non-cartridge mechanical seals.<br />

The functional principle of an L_800 <strong>vacuum</strong> pump<br />

The L_800 feature a robust compact two stage design with just one impeller <strong>and</strong> an integrated<br />

interstage manifold. As shown below the gas enters the 1st stage through the cone inlet port 1.<br />

It is precompressed to the interstage pressure 2 <strong>and</strong> leaves the 1st stage through the internal<br />

manifold which leads to the 2nd stage of the pump 3. In the 2nd stage the gas is compressed<br />

to the discharge pressure <strong>and</strong> exits through the cone discharge port 4.<br />

sensitive materials. Throughout the entire process, they operate<br />

condensation-free – <strong>and</strong> therefore corrosion-free – because there<br />

are no operating fluids to mix with the process gases. As a result,<br />

discharge gases can simply be collected <strong>and</strong>/or returned to the process.<br />
