P2W offer two main technologies. First, <strong>the</strong> heavy-metal elimination system induces sedimentation and removes heavy metal<br />

ions from <strong>the</strong> wastewater, without using any chemicals. Different metals typically present in industrial wastewater in dangerous<br />

concentrations are dealt with simultaneously.<br />

The second part is <strong>the</strong> cyanide system that oxidizes <strong>the</strong> cyanides and thus liberates nascent ozone, nascent chloride and <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

respective hydroxyl radicals. The results are carbon dioxide and nitrogen. No o<strong>the</strong>r technology <strong>to</strong>day is capable of doing that<br />

while using no chemical reagents and producing no sludge.<br />

The possible applications are many and varied: cyanides are among <strong>the</strong> heaviest pollutants produced by <strong>the</strong> electronics,<br />

electroplating, etching, processing of printed circuit boards and o<strong>the</strong>r industries using chromium, nickel, zinc, gold and o<strong>the</strong>r<br />

metal plating processes. The cyanides problem also exists in <strong>the</strong> gold and silver mining industry and in several o<strong>the</strong>r sec<strong>to</strong>rs.<br />

Exposure <strong>to</strong> cyanides can be life-threatening and irreversible, so <strong>the</strong> problem of getting rid of <strong>the</strong>m is increasingly urgent <strong>for</strong><br />

thousands of industrial plants worldwide.<br />
