Company at a Glance
EarlySense Ltd. is bringing to market the EverOn system, an automatic, continuous, contact-free patient
monitoring system that accurately identifies high-risk patient conditions. Alerting caregivers immediately
upon detecting such events enables earlier interventions, leading to reduced complications and costs.
EarlySense is headquartered in Ramat Gan, Israel and employs a multi-disciplinary team of 25 engineers,
physicists, physicians, nurses and marketing professionals working closely with clinical sites worldwide. The
Company’s vision is that within 10 years, all acute, chronic and geriatric patients will be continuously
safeguarded with such continuous monitoring solutions in home and hospital settings.
EarlySense's EverOn system bridges the critical time gap between patient deterioration and clinician
intervention. In light of the Joint Commission’s 2009 Patient Safety Goals for healthcare organizations,
EarlySense's technology offers a timely solution for detecting changes in a patient’s condition, while also
helping nurses focus on the patients who need their immediate attention.
Technology
EarlySense's technology is based on advanced signal-processing algorithms developed and refined over
years of extensive in-vivo testing. The patented systems include ultra-sensitive components that monitor
patients without direct contact or the need for patient compliance. The algorithms enable clinically accurate
tracking and measurement of respiration and heart rates, as well as patient movement, including bed
entry/exit and patient turn verification as indicated by a nurse interface.
Automatic System Operation
EarlySense’s technology has three main components: 1) a unique single plate sensing unit; 2) a bedside unit
that processes and displays the measured data; and 3) a central station display that enables complete
coverage of a unit wide set of monitors at a single point and enables an interface to the nurses’ mobile
devices. Once placed under a bed mattress, the sensing unit immediately self-activates whenever the patient
is in bed. The continuously filtered, sampled and analyzed data can be stored, and if desired can be printed
for documentation and clinician analysis. The system is FDA and CE cleared and has been shown to improve
clinical outcomes in general care units.
