The Healthy Urban Development Unit support this policy. DM 36 - Development within Town Centre boundaries Map 7.1 Angel Town centre boundary, primary and secondary frontages The GLA support policy DM 36 but state that the vibrancy and attractiveness of town and local centres should be referred to. Town Centre Manager and Board and Met Police disagree with the ‘Direction of Travel’ boundary proposed and would like to see this amended to reflect the adopted Angel Town Centre Strategy and Issues and Options consultation and to include the policy station. Sager House Almeida Ltd supports the extension to include The Town Centre Manager and Board would also like to see some amendment to the shopping frontages. Upper Street Association consider that shops and restaurants on the north side of Upper Street, north of The police station is not considered to be located so as to be an integral part of the town centre. The town centre boundary is focused on retail provision and the vitality and viability of the town centre. Some amendments to the frontages have been made. Secondary frontages have a retail focus, whereas their are lots of restaurants along this section of Upper Street and it is not considered that the secondary frontages designation would be appropriate. Map 7.2 Nag’s Head town centre boundary, changes to primary and secondary frontages Town Centre Manager and Board disagree with the ‘Direction of Travel’ boundary proposed. Would like to see this amended to reflect the adopted SPD and include the Holloway tube station and the Metro. Would also like to see some small amendments to the shopping frontages. Morrisons Supermarkets suggest that the Hertslet Road frontage and other frontages to Morrisons be designated as a primary frontage Amend town centre boundaries to reflect the SPD for the town centre. Some changes to the frontages have been made. Map 7.3 Archway town centre boundary, primary and secondary frontages Disagreement from local businesses, Better Archway Forum and Town Centre Manager on the proposed town centre boundary and some comments regarding primary and secondary frontages. Some respondents would like the boundary to extend further down Junction Road. Archway Market traders consider that the market should be protected. Boundary has been extended further south, along Junction Road. The market is included within the town centre boundary.
