Andover Community Communication Enhancement Project Category: Sub-category: Priority: Approx cost: Funds secured: £0 Estate <strong>improvement</strong>s Estate security / permeability 2 - Medium £34,000 To purchase and install badly needed notice boards for the estate, lighted bollards to forge path through landscaped area at Corker Walk and the creation/installation of estate based maps for visitors and emergency services to use when entering the estate. One of the main criticisms of the Andover for our Emergency Services is the lack of road signs/estate maps to guide them to specific locations. This investment would eradicate this problem. Additional lighted bollards along the path way at Corker Walk would help define this walkway as a natural path leading from the estate to Seven Sisters Road. It also aids to help light up this area which currently has no lights and is used heavily at night by pedestrian traffic. This scheme is also heavily supported by the TRA. Andover Estate - road resurfacing Category: Transport and streetscape Sub-category: Highway maintenance Priority: 2 - Medium Approx cost: £60,000 Funds secured: £0 To resurface entire stretch of Old Andover Road. One of the main arteries through the estate and onto Hornsey Road end of the estate is via Old Andover Road. The blocks within this area are soon to have Decent Homes works commencing there and would only be complemented by the resurfacing of what amounts to a very poor road. The current state of the Old Andover Road exerts a sense of neglect and timely deterioration, coupled with the effects of years of continued construction use. We are therefore asking for and additional £60k for the resurfacing of this complete road way. 24 June 2013 Page 81
Andover Estate - youth and community trust Category: Community facilities Sub-category: Community space Priority: 2 - Medium Approx cost: £29,195 Funds secured: £0 Andover Youth & Community Trust New Kitchen (£7,000) Andover Youth & Community Trust Technology upgrade. We would like to upgrade our current 10 Laptops within the multimedia suite with more up to date Apple Mac Pros (£16,000, LOW priority) Andover Youth & Community Trust Redecoration Scheme. The centre has not been decorated inside or outside since 2007 and the outside need’s brightening up to improve the look of the front of the building (£3,500, LOW priority) Andover Youth & Community Trust New Shutters Scheme (£2,695) The current kitchen has been in situ since 1994 and we would like to renew the kitchen. We would like to improve our kitchen so that it meets any health & safety requirements and that it is up to date with today’s standards. We would like to enable young people & Adults to get a chance to use the most up to date technology available and to improve our very slow Toshiba Laptops. We would like to offer the same opportunities to our users as they are offered at HNG. To help us regenerate the building in aid of getting more of the community involved in our sessions & to make the building more inviting. This particular area has not been improved within the last 18yrs and requires investment to improve access to the building. The current grills on the front have been in place since 1994 , These are now very worn and have become very hard to open for Volunteers. We would like to get a small electronic shutter that covers the main front door area. B2B Somali Arts and Education Category: Community facilities Sub-category: Community support funding Priority: 2 - Medium Approx cost: £18,000 Funds secured: £5,000 This is a arts and Crafts Project base in Grafton Primary School. this project develops the Somali women and others, who attend the project skills to making saleable products, so the women can be encourage to develop further skills. Participants, are both Somali women and from diverse backgrounds and include mothers, single women and women whose children have grown up. They learn various skills: sewing, pattern cutting, printing and associated English language and numeracy skills. This investment is need to encourage women, to look in future employment such as the creative industry. Either to work as machines or as pattern cutters but also to work from home in future and take up commission's form so B2B can develop online sales, market stalls, for handmade products, as well a shop to sale products in the future. AlsoB2B has had advice and training from various agencies about developing our social enterprise, including Women’s Resourc, The funding to be finish by March July, But the project will carry on to develop further, marketing, on-line shop and as well marketing. 24 June 2013 Page 82
