Priority: Approx cost: 3 - Low £6,500 Funds secured: £0 Finsbury Park principle routes streetscape improvements Category: Sub-category: Priority: Approx cost: Funds secured: £0 Transport and streetscape Streetscape 3 - Low £1,000,000 Streetscape improvements to main thoroughfares incuding Seven Sisters Road, Stroud Green Road and Holloway Road; possible works to include DDA works, footway renewal, decluttering of street furniture, possible lighting enhancement, tree planting, and public art, designed to improve community safety and public confidence in using public space. £1m is a conservative estimate of how much it would cost to make any significant improvement to these streets. Improvements would also need the co-operation of Transport for London, and would need to be implemented by TfL. Community safety is the Partnership's top priority. Finsbury Park ward bus facilities Category: Transport and streetscape Sub-category: Public transport Review of bus provision on a ward by ward basis to establish current bus services and improvements required to serve local residents. Many local residents rely on buses as their main form of transport. By providing evidence and a suitable strategy we will be in a stronger position to petition TfL for improvements to bus services. Priority: Approx cost: 3 - Low £10,000 Funds secured: £0 Finsbury Park ward cycling improvements Category: Transport and streetscape Sub-category: Walking / cycling Priority: 3 - Low Approx cost: £320,000 Funds secured: £0 To provide an improved, safer cycling environment in the borough. This includes removal of barriers to cycling, such as one-way streets and "No Entry" points to allow cycling on less trafficked roads (approx 8 sites, £100,000). This also includes improving infrastructure by providing enhancements such as Advanced Stop Lines (ASLs), cycle lanes/tracks, cycle logo on-street markings and signage where appropriate (approx 11 sites, £220,000). The Council aims to increase cycling, and to do so, must address the range of barriers faced by cyclists and those who wish to cycle. Costeffective investment will target funding at specific barriers and will ensure that there is a reduction in casualties despite any increase in cycling. Finsbury Park ward speed management Category: Transport and streetscape Sub-category: Road safety Priority: 3 - Low Approx cost: £20,000 Funds secured: £0 To implement measures to address any speeding issues that may be occuring following the implementation of the borough wide 20mph speed limit scheme. Possible measures include new vehicle activated signs, visual road narrowings, additional 20mph road markings and resident community enforcement programmes. A figure of £20K is proposed for each ward to be allocated to roads as highlighted in the surveys being undertaken to identify the most at risk locations. The recently introduced 20mph limit will be most effective if any areas of non-compliance are highlighted and remedial measures undertaken. As part of the review of the borough 20mph limit scheme speed surveys are being undertaken postimplementation to establish which roads have speed limits which are not complying with the new limit and identify measures to improve this. 24 June 2013 Page 88
