Individual Profile<br />

Edham is a corporate banking and finance lawyer with Abdul Rahman<br />

& Partners in Kuala Lumpur, a firm founded by his father in 1984.<br />

His areas of practice include <strong>Islamic</strong> banking and finance as well as<br />

corporate and commercial.<br />

He has vast experience in advising onshore and offshore banking<br />

clients, setting up private equity/trust funds, preparing standard <strong>Islamic</strong><br />

banking security documents for local and foreign incorporated banks<br />

and clients, and providing advisory work on Sukuk issuances, among<br />

others. He has also advised his clients on structuring <strong>Islamic</strong> facilities<br />

for project financing and syndicated-related and club deal works.<br />

He has also worked with various corporations and institutions on<br />

essential debt and equity documentation such as mandatory general<br />

offer (MGO) acquisition financing and other related commercial<br />

practices.<br />

Edham holds a Master’s Degree of Law in Banking from the International<br />

<strong>Islamic</strong> University Malaysia. He graduated with an LLB (Hons) from the<br />

University of Sheffield, UK, and attended BPP Law School in London to<br />

complete his Bar Vocational Course. He was called to the English Bar as<br />

an utter barrister of Gray’s Inn in July 2003 and subsequently returned<br />

to Malaysia to commence <strong>legal</strong> practice.<br />

Being a young, enthusiastic and dynamic lawyer, Edham hopes to<br />

lead his firm to the forefront of Malaysia’s efforts to be a center of<br />

excellence for <strong>Islamic</strong> banking and finance.<br />
