8.6 Program an EPROM
If your client has no PG5 installed then you can send him an EPROM containing
the user program instead. PG5 can create the most common EPROM formats
for your EPROM burner.
In order to create an EPROM you must build your program first.
Choose the “Output File Format:” and press “Create Files”
The HEX files are then created and you can use the files in your EPROM
burner software.
Technical stuff:
The EPROM not only contains the user program but also the hardware configuration.
So if you plug in a EPROM into the PCD system then at start-up the
system is configured and only then the PCD starts to run. Make sure that you
change the jumper on the PCD from R (RAM) to E (EPROM) if you use an
EPROM. The jumper location is explained in the hardware manual of every
PCD.
