The Direct Injection Adapter is recommended when using the<br />
Liquid Load Pump to load samples directly on the column, or<br />
when there is a need to bypass the automated injection valve<br />
during sample injections.<br />
3.1.4 Liquid Injection Adapter<br />
The Liquid Injection Adapter (60-5244-059) should be used<br />
when performing liquid sample injections with a syringe. The<br />
valve prevents the liquid from be forced back out of the<br />
injection port. Refer to section 3.4.1 for more information.<br />
3.1.5 Prime Tube Assembly<br />
The prime tube assembly (209-0165-76), also called a column<br />
bypass tube, can be used in place of a column when<br />
purging/priming the system and when performing<br />
maintenance.<br />
3.1.6 Prime Pump Plug, 1/8-inch<br />
Use this plug (209-0165-21) to cap the B Solvent’s Prime port<br />
when this port is not in use.<br />
3.1.7 Stylus<br />
The stylus with adhesive-backed mounting plate may be<br />
attached near the LCD display for precise control of the touch<br />
screen.<br />
3.1.8 Test Mix B Vials and 5 mL Syringe<br />
Test Mix B can be used to determine if the system is operating<br />
correctly. Refer to SYSTEM VERIFICATION WITH TEST MIX B in<br />
section 2.15 for instructions.<br />
3.1.9 Cable Clips and Ties<br />
Use the clips and ties to secure tubing or wiring after<br />
installation.<br />
3.2 Sample Preparation<br />
Before starting a run, consider how the sample will be<br />
introduced to the column media. This section discusses three<br />
methods: liquid injection, solid sample cartridges, and<br />
preloading the sample on the column.<br />
