Section 5 Remote Interfaces<br />

Note<br />

The following instructions may require a user account with<br />

Administrator privileges on the PC. If you cannot modify the<br />

settings in sections 5.2.4 through 5.2.2, contact your Information<br />

Technology department.<br />

5.2.1 Windows 7 Settings<br />

1. From the Windows Start menu, right-click on Network,<br />

then select the Properties menu option. The PC displays<br />

the Network and Sharing Center.<br />

2. Click on the “Change Adapter Settings” link on the left side<br />

of the window.<br />

3. Right-click on the Local Area Connection icon and select<br />

the Properties option. If <strong>User</strong> Account Control requests<br />

permission to continue, click OK. The PC displays the<br />

Local Area Connection Properties window (Figure 5-1).<br />

4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then click<br />

the Properties button. The PC displays the Internet<br />

Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties window<br />

(Figure 5-2).<br />

If the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) option is not listed,<br />

click the Install button to add it. If assistance is needed, press the<br />

F1 keyboard button to display Windows 7 Help.<br />

Note<br />

The following steps change the local area connection settings. If<br />

the PC must be restored to its original network configuration,<br />

record the present Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) settings now.<br />

5. Select the “Use the following IP address” option.<br />

6. Enter the IP address “192.168.1.200”.<br />

7. Enter the Subnet Mask, “255.255.255.0.”<br />

8. Click the OK button to close the Internet Protocol Version 4<br />

(TCP/IPv4) Properties window. Click the OK button to close<br />

the Local Area Connection properties window.<br />
