Prolonged contact may result in defatting of the skin [058]. It can cause<br />
skin sensitization [151,159]. Ingestion of large amounts can cause gastrointestinal<br />
upset and diarrhea [058]. A single drop in human eyes has caused<br />
immediate stinging, blepharospasm, and lacrimation followed by mild transient<br />
conjunctival hyperemia [099,430]. Severe inhalation of the mist may cause<br />
mild irritation of the upper respiratory tract [058]. In children, exposure<br />
can cause stupor, tachypnea, tachycardia, diaphoresis and seizures [151]. It<br />
can also cause hypoglycemia in children [430]. Very high doses in experimental<br />
animals have produced central nervous system depression, hemolysis, and<br />
minimal kidney changes [151].<br />
