Section 9 Modifier Addition<br />
9.3 Initial Preparation for<br />
Modifier Addition<br />
When first setting up the D <strong>Series</strong> pump system under modifier<br />
mode, the pumps should be zeroed and filled. To accomplish this,<br />
the pumps should first be placed under independent control -<br />
constant pressure mode.<br />
Note<br />
Once the modifier system is operating, the system does not<br />
need to be zeroed before refilling.<br />

To fill pump B with modifier<br />
1. If the pumps are running, press the STOP key once.<br />
2. Press the MENU key.<br />
3. Press softkey A - MORE.<br />
4. Press 4 - MULTI-PUMP, to display the multi-pump menu.<br />
5. Press 4 - INDEPENDENT to designate that the pumps be<br />
operated under independent control. The number 4 will<br />
blink, indicating that independent has been selected.<br />
6. Press softkey D - PREVIOUS, twice to return to the main<br />
menu.<br />
1. Press the blue CONST PRESS key on the front panel keypad.<br />
1. Place the pumps in independent control - constant pressure<br />
mode, as detailed above.<br />
2. Be sure the pumps are stopped.<br />
3. Disconnect the inlet tubing from the inlet valve of pump A.<br />
4. Select 2 pump independent control/constant pressure<br />
mode.<br />
5. Open the inlet valves of each pump.<br />
6. Run both pumps to their empty positions.<br />
7. Zero the pressure on each pump.<br />
8. Reconnect the pump A inlet tubing to the inlet valve.<br />
1. Place the pumps in independent control - constant pressure<br />
mode, as detailed above.<br />
2. Be sure the pumps are stopped.<br />
3. Close the pump B outlet valve and open the pump B inlet<br />
valve.<br />
4. Press the REFILL key on the front panel keypad. Press<br />
softkey B to designate that pump B is the active pump (the<br />
pump being refilled). Pump B will fill with modifier.<br />
5. After pump B has filled, press run and deliver 5-10 ml of<br />
modifier back through the inlet valve, to ensure all air is<br />
purged from the pump, before pressing stop.<br />
6. Close the inlet valve.<br />
