Menu Commands<br />

2. Identify the source of data. Type in the path and name of<br />

the .ZIP or .MDB file or locate it by pressing the Select…<br />

button. The destination will always be the open database.<br />

3. Generally you won’t want to alter the sites and the<br />

instrument settings. Leaving the Restore site<br />

information check box blank will retain the existing<br />

settings. To overwrite the settings using the source<br />

information, check this box.<br />

4. Click Restore.<br />

Database Backup<br />

This feature compresses the complete database (sites, graphs<br />

and tables, and schedules) into a backup (.ZIP) file.<br />

To create a Backup:<br />

1. Select Database>Backup from the menu.<br />

2. A window is displayed with an explanation of the<br />

operation. To continue, click OK.<br />

3. Select or enter the backup destination folder and file<br />

name.<br />

4. Click OK.<br />

Database Restore<br />

From Backup<br />

This feature decompresses the contents of a backup (.ZIP) file.<br />

To restore from a backup file:<br />

1. Select Database>Restore From Backup from the menu.<br />

2. Locate the backup (.ZIP) file and click OK.<br />

3. Select the destination directory and click OK. <strong>Flowlink</strong><br />

closes the current database and begins to restore the<br />

backup database.<br />

Note: If the database (.MDB) file already exists, you will<br />

be asked if you want to overwrite it. Overwrite the<br />

database only when you want to completely replace its<br />

contents. To avoid an overwrite, click cancel. To restore<br />

the backup database without overwriting, select a<br />

different directory.<br />

4. <strong>Flowlink</strong> displays a progress bar while it proceeds with<br />

the restore. When it is done, <strong>Flowlink</strong> opens the restored<br />

database.<br />

View Commands<br />

The View options on the <strong>Flowlink</strong> menu allow you to display or<br />

hide toolbars and windows. Options include the following:<br />
