Menu Commands<br />
Selecting this option displays a window to name the new<br />
database, and to select or create a new directory.<br />
Database Open<br />

<strong>Flowlink</strong> LE<br />
<strong>Flowlink</strong> Pro<br />
The Database>Open menu command displays a dialog box to<br />
open a database. In <strong>Flowlink</strong> <strong>5.1</strong> and <strong>Flowlink</strong> LE, use this<br />
dialog to open an .MDB database.<br />
In <strong>Flowlink</strong> Pro, you can use this dialog to connect to an .MDB or<br />
.SDB database, or a central server database (Microsoft SQL or<br />
Oracle).<br />
Use the Open Database dialog to open a database for use.<br />
The Database field lists the selected database. This field will also<br />
remember databases that you have previously opened. To select a<br />
different database, view the drop-down list and select the desired<br />
database. If the desired database is not listed click Browse to<br />
locate and select the desired database.<br />
Click the OK button to open the selected database.<br />
In the event that a database in the drop-down list no longer<br />
exists, remove it from the list by selecting it and clicking the<br />
Delete button.<br />

<strong>Flowlink</strong> Pro can connect to an .MDB or .SDB database in the<br />
same manner described for <strong>Flowlink</strong> <strong>5.1</strong> and <strong>Flowlink</strong> LE.<br />
<strong>Flowlink</strong> Pro can also connect to a a central server database<br />
(MS SQL or Oracle).<br />
To connect to a central server database:<br />
1. Connection to server database requires a .CFG<br />
(configure) file from the Server Database Administrator.<br />
Save this file from the administrator in a location easily<br />
accessed by the Windows PC running <strong>Flowlink</strong> Pro.<br />
2. Click the Configure List button and locate the .CFG file.<br />
Click the open button to select the .CFG file.<br />
3. The names of the available databases are now visible in<br />
the Database field. Use the drop-down list to select the<br />
desired database.<br />
4. Enter the User Name and Password provided by the<br />
<strong>Flowlink</strong> Pro Administrator.<br />
5. Click OK to connect to the central server database.<br />
Note: Remote connections (not within the same IP domain) will<br />
require the Server Database Administrator to set up access to<br />
the database through a VPN, Alias, or similar remote access<br />
method. After configuring the remote access, steps 1 through 5<br />
