Menu Commands<br />

File Quick Connect File>Quick Connect from the <strong>Flowlink</strong> menu or the button<br />

on the toolbar opens the Quick Connect window. The Quick<br />

Connect window is where you specify the type of connection and<br />

the settings to use for communicating with the <strong>Isco</strong> instrument.<br />

When using the Direct, Modem, and TCP connections, <strong>Flowlink</strong><br />

will locate the correct site in the database for you. If the site is<br />

not in the database, a new one will be created. When using the<br />

Wireless connection, you must identify the site before <strong>Flowlink</strong><br />

can continue.<br />

This window specifies the type of connection and the settings to<br />

use for communicating with an instrument. It can be opened by<br />

selecting File>Quick Connect from the menu, pressing F11 on<br />

your keyboard, or clicking on the Quick Connect toolbar button.<br />

When using the Direct, Modem, and TCP connections, <strong>Flowlink</strong><br />

Note: If you are select a Pulse Doppler instrument, you will<br />

select the instrument type from the Pulse Doppler Connect<br />

window.<br />

To connect to a site:<br />

1. Review, and update if necessary, the connection settings.<br />

2. Click on the large button that matches the type of<br />

instrument at the site.<br />

3. Click the Quick Connect button on the <strong>Flowlink</strong><br />

toolbar, or press F11 on the keyboard. <strong>Flowlink</strong> opens the<br />

Quick Connect window.<br />

4. Select the Type of connection- Direct or Modem.<br />

5. Check the Create new site check box and then click on<br />

the large button for pulse doppler instruments.<br />

The Pulse Doppler Connect window will appear.<br />

6. Enter a site name and a device name, and select the<br />

radio button for ADFM (Standard or HotTap), accQmin,<br />

or HADFM.<br />

Click OK, and <strong>Flowlink</strong> creates a site window.<br />

7. Click the Connect button, and <strong>Flowlink</strong> starts<br />

communication with the Pulse Doppler instrument.<br />

through an interrogator cable, communication cable, or short<br />
