Minor Railways Section – <strong>AGM</strong> <strong>and</strong> Summer <strong>Technical</strong> <strong>Visit</strong><br />

Saturday 8 th June <strong>2013</strong><br />

With the kind permission of the Great Central Railway, the Minor Railways Section <strong>2013</strong> <strong>AGM</strong> <strong>and</strong> Summer<br />

<strong>Technical</strong> <strong>Visit</strong> will be held at the Great Central Railway at Loughborough, followed after a buffet lunch by a visit to<br />

the <strong>GCR</strong> signal boxes <strong>and</strong> a trip on the line. The <strong>AGM</strong> <strong>and</strong> technical visit is open to members <strong>and</strong> non-members<br />

<strong>and</strong> is aimed at individuals involved with signalling <strong>and</strong> telecommunications design, installation <strong>and</strong> maintenance in<br />

the minor railway sector or those who have a general interest in these subjects. For the planned schedule for the<br />

visit see below:<br />

Saturday 8th June <strong>2013</strong><br />

Arrival from 10:00 for refreshments, the <strong>AGM</strong> will take place in the First Floor Board Room, Lovatt House, 3<br />

Wharncliffe Road, Loughborough LE11 1SL starting at 10:30 sharp. Following the conclusion of the business of the<br />

<strong>AGM</strong>, there will be a presentation on the Great Central Railway signalling by Graham Bannister (<strong>GCR</strong> S & T<br />

Superintendent), followed by a buffet lunch. After lunch there will be a tour of the facilities at Loughborough <strong>and</strong> at<br />

other sites on the line (Please note travel tickets will be required). Attendees will each be presented with a voucher<br />

during lunch, which will enable them to purchase a discounted ticket for travel on the line for the rest of the day. On<br />

completion of the business of the day there will be the opportunity to join an informal drinks evening in a local<br />

Loughborough pub.<br />

The <strong>AGM</strong> is free to attend but there is a charge of £10.00 for lunch <strong>and</strong> the technical visit thereafter. Any travel on<br />

the line will require the purchase of a ticket which can be discounted using the voucher provided. No<br />

accommodation has been arranged in connection with this visit but should you require it, a good selection of<br />

accommodation is available in the Loughborough, Derby <strong>and</strong> Leicester area<br />
