Minor Railways Section – AGM and Summer Technical Visit
Saturday 8 th June 2013
With the kind permission of the Great Central Railway, the Minor Railways Section 2013 AGM and Summer
Technical Visit will be held at the Great Central Railway at Loughborough, followed after a buffet lunch by a visit to
the GCR signal boxes and a trip on the line. The AGM and technical visit is open to members and non-members
and is aimed at individuals involved with signalling and telecommunications design, installation and maintenance in
the minor railway sector or those who have a general interest in these subjects. For the planned schedule for the
visit see below:
Saturday 8th June 2013
Arrival from 10:00 for refreshments, the AGM will take place in the First Floor Board Room, Lovatt House, 3
Wharncliffe Road, Loughborough LE11 1SL starting at 10:30 sharp. Following the conclusion of the business of the
AGM, there will be a presentation on the Great Central Railway signalling by Graham Bannister (GCR S & T
Superintendent), followed by a buffet lunch. After lunch there will be a tour of the facilities at Loughborough and at
other sites on the line (Please note travel tickets will be required). Attendees will each be presented with a voucher
during lunch, which will enable them to purchase a discounted ticket for travel on the line for the rest of the day. On
completion of the business of the day there will be the opportunity to join an informal drinks evening in a local
Loughborough pub.
The AGM is free to attend but there is a charge of £10.00 for lunch and the technical visit thereafter. Any travel on
the line will require the purchase of a ticket which can be discounted using the voucher provided. No
accommodation has been arranged in connection with this visit but should you require it, a good selection of
accommodation is available in the Loughborough, Derby and Leicester area

mrsvisits@irse.org. All delegate places will be given out on a first
come, first served basis, as accommodation is limited. For further

accompany your booking form to secure your place.
