SHORT HISTORY
The LRSM program began in 1960 part of the VELA-Uniform project. It continued until 1971, when it was replaced by the
Special Data Collection System program " which remains active. Work under these programs h" been directed towards advancing the
seismic-detection, identification, ,nd location techniques necessary to rletect .nd identify underground nuclear explosions.
