SHORT HISTORY<br />

BUF was inaugurated in 1910 as an early Jesuit Seismological Station; it moved to a new location in 1912. Its original<br />

instruments were the Weichert's and the Galitzin-Wilip described ilhove. In 1930 iI new Galitzin-Wilip was added. The<br />

Sprengnether's were added in 1946. The station is not currently operating but will be refurbished in the academic year 1977-78.<br />
