ELC is part of the New Madrid Network. Its instrumentation is a modification of USGS microearthquake equipment.
SHY was installed near the epicenter of an ~ 4.7 earthquake. It operated unattended for 1 month at a time from April 1974
until December 1976. A telemetry station is planned for that ute starhng in the fall of 1977.
