NOTICE OF TENDER
1. A tender is invited for “RENEWAL/REPAIRS TO ROADS UNDER DGNP(V) AREA”
2. The work is estimated for Rs.4.95 Lakhs (Rupees Four lakhs ninety five
thousand only) The estimate however, is not a guarantee and is merely given as a rough
guide and if the work costs more or less the tenderer will have no claim on that account.
3. The tender shall be based on IAFW -2249 and 1779A (Revised 1955) with Schedule
‘A’ (item of works) to be quoted by the tenderer.
4. The work is to be completed within 04 (FOUR) months from the date of
commencement of work as per Work Order No.1. (In accordance with phasing if any
indicated in the tender)
5. Application for tender forms must be submitted to the GE (Wks) 2 Director General
Naval Project, Visakhapatnam – 530 014 so as to reach this office on or before 07 SEP
2011.
6. The cost of Blank tender forms is Rs.300/- (Rupees Three hundred only) and
shall be submitted in the form of Demand Draft from any Nationalized Bank in favour of
DIRECTOR GENERAL NAVAL PROJECT, VISAKHAPATNAM payable at Visakhapatnam which
shall be attached to the application requesting issue of tender by the Contractor.
Application received without DD shall not be considered for issue of tender. DD shall be
non-refundable if the application for issue of tender forms is accepted and tender
documents in blank are issued to the contractor after scrutiny and selection. However, it
shall be returned to the applicant by the Accepting Officer in case the tender form is not
issued. The Contractor shall bear the cost of Bank charges for procuring and encashing the
Bank draft. The applicant shall also renew or forward fresh DD at his own cost on demand
by Accepting Officer in case of delay in issue of tender failing which the applicant’s request
for issue of tender shall be rejected & he shall not have any claim whatsoever on this
account on Govt. The applicant Contractor shall not become automatically entitled for issue
of tender by virtue of enclosing DD alongwith the application and the Accepting Officer shall
reserve the right to deny issue of tender to any applicant Contractor. The contractor shall
not have any claim whatsoever on this account on Govt.
Note: Invitation for application for issue of tender does not constitute any guarantee
for issue of tender to applicant, even to enlisted contractors of appropriate class. Issue of
tender will be decided by the Accepting Officer based on interalia, past track record,
financial position and experience of similar works executed by the applicant/contractor. The
Accepting Officer shall consider applications received upto the date of receipt of
applications/extended date of receipt of applications for issue of tender. The
applicant/contractor will be informed regarding non-issue of tender without assigning
reasons. The applicant/contractor if he so desire may appeal to the next higher engineer
authority with copy to the Accepting Officer. No appeal/representation shall be entertained
in respect of applications for issue of tender as received after the due date of applications/
extended date of receipt of applications. The decision of the next higher Engineer Authority
shall be final. No applicant/contractor shall be entitled for any compensation whatsoever for
rejection of his application.

7. Tender forms and conditions of contract alongwith other necessary documents will
be issued on or after 15 SEP 2011.
8. The following information about Earnest Money and Security Deposit shall be read in
conjunction with Para 1 of appendix ‘A’ to Notice of tender.
(a) Appropriate Class is Class ‘E’ with Standing Security Deposit amount of Rs.
30,000/-
(b) Earnest Money amount in case of contractors who are not enlisted with the
department shall be Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten thousand only) to be deposited in
the form of call deposit receipt issued in favour of Director General Naval Project,
Visakhapatnam - 14
9. The tenderers are advised to visit site by making prior appointment with GE (Wks) 2
sufficiently in advance.
10. Tenders will be received by Garrison Engineer (Wks)2, Office of the Director General
Naval Project, Naval Base Post, Visakhapatnam – 530 014 upto 1430 hours on 05 OCT
2011
11. For further details see Appendix ‘A’ to Notice of tender.
12. The Notice of tender alongwith Appendix ‘A’ shall form part of the tender documents.
13. The applicants shall submit their “E-Mail ID” along with the application.
