back to the world. Truly, every school teacher,
irrespective of his/her age, experience or
background, has the capacity to change. A student
needs to recognize his teacher. The simple faith
between a teacher and his student needs to be
inculcated in all students today.
Movies make a huge impact on teaching as the
acceptance of concept is easy and comprehending
the management fundamentals is simpler. As it is
rightly said, "one picture is equal to a thousand words".
The film “3 Idiots” reveals “Learning the idiotic
way” as follows:-
• Never try to be successful, excellence
always creates success.
• Live every moment to the fullest.
• Passion leads to excellence.
• Learning is very simple, teachers do fail.
• Current education system causes
pressures among students.
• Life is emotion management, not
intelligence optimisation.
• Necessity is the mother of invention.
• Simplicity is life.
• Industrial leadership.
• Love is time and space free.
• Importance of a word in communication.
At the end of the film, one is left feeling a sense
of triumph, and a question for oneself – “What is it that
I believed in and why did I give it up?” Real life does
not have larger-than-life heroes and villains; it does not
have dramatic emotions or black-and-white
characters. Real life is about simple acts of caring,
touching glimpses of unconditional support, simple
occasions of affectionate humour and of
unpretentious moments of faith and courage. If each
student is able to find the freedom to discover his own
potential and then within him the courage to pursue
it and then finds a teacher who will suffer the agonies
of failure with him – well, then each student could be
Iqbal, and every teacher, Mohit.
The power of Bollywood lies not in refitting
stereotypes but in playing with them to suggest new
possibilities. This, "3 Idiots" does with laughter and
intelligence, by treating lightly what we usually
pontificate about, turning education into a world of
nostalgia and anticipation that we deeply treasure.
The last word is – “Education is not embedded in the
chalkboard, textbook and in the exam but in the
friendships, values and ideas seeded in `centres of
learning’ that might germinate later.”
