Description<br />

In 2006, representatives of organizations <strong>and</strong> the government convened to discuss<br />

ways to strengthen public participation <strong>in</strong> fight<strong>in</strong>g the imm<strong>in</strong>ent corruption <strong>in</strong> Mexico,<br />

while <strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>g transparency <strong>and</strong> accountability. They found there was truly no<br />

space for citizens to voice their op<strong>in</strong>ions on public matters. Government issued a<br />

public notice to citizens of Mexico to participate <strong>in</strong> a competition designed to identify<br />

the most useless government procedure. This competition gave way for citizens<br />

of Mexico to take part <strong>in</strong> evaluat<strong>in</strong>g their government for the betterment of society.<br />
