Article VI. Trials and Appeals<br />
2) If a thorough investigation produces valid and<br />
factual information that would merit a trial, formal<br />
charges shall be prepared and sent to the<br />
defendant by certified mail. The charges shall<br />
include the following:<br />
a) Accusations<br />
b) Section of the Bible violated<br />
c) Section of the International Pentecostal<br />
Holiness <strong>Church</strong> <strong>Manual</strong> violated<br />
d) Name(s) of person(s) filing the original<br />
complaint<br />
e) Consequences for ignoring the charges<br />
f) Assurance of a fair trial<br />
The defendant shall be given a written twoweeks’<br />
notice of the trial.<br />
3) If accusations are brought against the General<br />
Superintendent, the Vice Chairman shall preside.<br />
4) The Council of Bishops will elect a nine-member<br />
ecclesiastical jury composed of ordained clergy of<br />
the International Pentecostal Holiness <strong>Church</strong>.<br />
This committee shall be selected at the first session<br />
of the Council of Bishops. No member of the<br />
Executive Committee, the Council of Bishops,<br />
or the Global Ministry Center staff shall serve on<br />
this jury:<br />
a) The ecclesiastical jury shall elect a chairman<br />
and secretary from its membership.<br />
b) The term of office for a jury member will be for<br />
four (4) years, with no member serving more<br />
than two (2) terms in succession.<br />
