Article VI. Trials and Appeals<br />
individual. The disciplinary action may involve the<br />
defendant’s indefinite suspension from church<br />
membership.<br />
4) A defendant failing to appear for trial (unless<br />
providentially hindered) forfeits his membership and<br />
right of appeal.<br />
b. Conference<br />
1) The Conference Executive Council shall investigate<br />
any member of the Conference against whom<br />
signed accusations have been presented.<br />
2) If a thorough investigation produces valid and<br />
factual information that would merit a trial, formal<br />
charges shall be prepared and sent to the<br />
defendant by certified mail. The charges shall<br />
include the following:<br />
a) Accusations<br />
b) Section of the Bible violated<br />
c) Section of the International Pentecostal<br />
Holiness <strong>Church</strong> <strong>Manual</strong> violated<br />
d) Name(s) of the person(s) filing the original<br />
complaint<br />
e) Consequences of ignoring the charges<br />
f) Assurance of a fair trial<br />
The defendant shall be given a written twoweeks’<br />
notice of the trial.<br />
3) The Conference Executive Council shall serve as a<br />
judiciary committee and shall keep its inquiry and<br />
findings confidential. The Conference Executive<br />
Council shall appoint one member to present the<br />
charges. The defendant may appoint counsel from<br />
the membership of the International Pentecostal<br />
