Article VI. Trials and Appeals<br />

1) If a thorough investigation produces valid and<br />
factual information that would merit a trial, formal<br />
charges shall be prepared and sent to the<br />
defendant by certified mail. The charges shall<br />
include the following:<br />
a) Accusations<br />
b) Section of the Bible violated<br />
c) Section of the International Pentecostal<br />
Holiness <strong>Church</strong> <strong>Manual</strong> violated<br />
d) Name(s) of the person(s) filing the original<br />
complaint<br />
e) Consequences of ignoring the charges<br />
f) Assurance of a fair trial<br />
The defendant shall be given a written twoweeks’<br />
notice of the trial.<br />
2) An ecclesiastical jury, equal in number to and<br />
separate from the Local <strong>Church</strong> Administrative<br />
Council, shall be appointed by the Local <strong>Church</strong><br />
Administrative Council to try the case. The jury<br />
shall keep its inquiry and findings confidential.<br />
One member of the Local <strong>Church</strong> Administrative<br />
Council shall be appointed to present the charges.<br />
The defendant may appoint counsel from the<br />
membership of the International Pentecostal<br />
Holiness <strong>Church</strong> or act as his own counsel.<br />
The Senior Pastor shall set the time and place of<br />
the trial as expeditiously as possible and chair the<br />
proceedings. A two-thirds vote of the ecclesiastical<br />
jury shall declare the verdict.<br />
3) The Local <strong>Church</strong> Administrative Council shall<br />
determine the disciplinary action according to the<br />
severity of the case and the repentance of the<br />
