Trials and Appeals<br />
A. Discipline<br />
Discipline is an exercise in spiritual authority for which the<br />
church is ultimately responsible. Disciplinary action is taken so<br />
God may be honored and the purity and integrity of the<br />
ministry may be maintained. Its purpose is to provide a way by<br />
which those under discipline may repent and seek restoration,<br />
while protecting the spiritual welfare of the church. Disciplinary<br />
action should be dispensed in mercy.<br />
B. Reasons for Disciplinary Actions<br />
1. Being out of harmony with the Covenant of Commitment of<br />
the International Pentecostal Holiness <strong>Church</strong><br />
2. Any unbecoming conduct that reflects on the ministry of<br />
the International Pentecostal Holiness <strong>Church</strong> and tends to<br />
destroy its influence<br />
C. Initiative<br />
1. All accusations should be settled, if possible, by the<br />
investigating board without a trial, according to the<br />
principles of Matthew 18:15-17.<br />
2. Should the accused confess and repent, the board to<br />
which he is amenable will draft a plan of restoration<br />
according to the International Pentecostal Holiness <strong>Church</strong><br />
<strong>Manual</strong> guidelines.<br />
3. Should the accused not confess, the following procedures<br />
will be followed:<br />
a. Local <strong>Church</strong><br />
Any person giving reason for disciplinary actions<br />
(based on section B) shall be investigated by the<br />
Senior Pastor and the Local <strong>Church</strong> Administrative<br />
Council. Accusations must by made in writing and<br />
signed. When there are accusations against a Local<br />
<strong>Church</strong> Administrative Council member, he shall<br />
