Article III. Organizational Structure – Local <strong>Church</strong>es<br />
b) Elders and deacons who are not ordained or<br />
licensed clergy may be elected to fill the<br />
positions listed above.<br />
c) Only members of the local church meeting the<br />
following qualifications shall be eligible to serve<br />
on the Local <strong>Church</strong> Administrative Council.<br />
(These provisions do not apply to the Senior<br />
Pastor, who is subject to the qualifications that<br />
apply to clergy.)<br />
(1) The member shall have demonstrated<br />
Christian maturity and love for Christ.<br />
(2) The member shall have spiritual giftings<br />
that contribute to the well-being of the<br />
church.<br />
(3) The member shall have demonstrated<br />
godly character that brings honor to Christ<br />
and the local congregation.<br />
(4) The member shall be in harmony with the<br />
church’s mission/vision statement.<br />
(5) The member shall have supported the<br />
church faithfully in attendance and tithes for<br />
at least six months and be in harmony with<br />
the Conference and General <strong>Church</strong><br />
financial guidelines.<br />
d) In addition to the qualifications above, a person<br />
who has been divorced and remarried must<br />
meet the provisions below in order to hold the<br />
offices of elder or deacon, or to serve otherwise<br />
on the Local <strong>Church</strong> Administrative Council:<br />
(1) A divorced and remarried Christian will be<br />
eligible for consideration for the offices of<br />
elder or deacon or to serve otherwise on<br />
the Local <strong>Church</strong> Administrative Council<br />
when one of the following applies:<br />
