Article III.<br />
Organizational Structure – Local <strong>Church</strong>es<br />
The International Pentecostal Holiness <strong>Church</strong> affirms local<br />
churches as the primary representation of the body of Christ in<br />
their local communities. Accordingly, the primary focus of the<br />
International Pentecostal Holiness <strong>Church</strong> is to serve local<br />
churches and facilitate their ministry.<br />
A. Local groups of people wishing to associate with the<br />
International Pentecostal Holiness <strong>Church</strong> after the<br />
original adoption of these Bylaws at the 2009 General<br />
Conference may do so in one of the following ways:<br />
1. As a Member <strong>Church</strong><br />
Each new Member <strong>Church</strong> shall be categorized as either a<br />
Planted Member <strong>Church</strong> or a Transfer Member <strong>Church</strong> as<br />
follows:<br />
a. Planted Member <strong>Church</strong><br />
1) A Planted Member <strong>Church</strong> is a newly created<br />
church which is first organized with the support of<br />
and/or under the name of the International<br />
Pentecostal Holiness <strong>Church</strong>, Inc., or one of its<br />
subdivisions by meeting the criteria in paragraph 2)<br />
below.<br />
2) In order to organize as a Planted Member <strong>Church</strong>,<br />
a group must consist of twenty (20) or more<br />
persons, including at least twelve (12) persons 18<br />
years of age or older, who have met the following<br />
criteria:<br />
a) The group has officially expressed a desire to<br />
associate with the International Pentecostal<br />
Holiness <strong>Church</strong> and has applied for<br />
recognition as a Member <strong>Church</strong> by a<br />
Conference.<br />
b) If located in a state that permits nonprofit<br />
religious corporations, the group has legally<br />
incorporated.<br />
