Bylaws<br />

Article I. Organizational Structure – General Level<br />

(1) Clergy Support, Care, and Restoration<br />

(2) Clergy Credentials and Training, including<br />

MCP and Schools of Ministry<br />

b) Clergy Development shall be directed by a fulltime<br />

Director of Clergy Development. The job<br />

description of the Director of Clergy<br />

Development shall be established by the<br />

Executive Committee. Notwithstanding the<br />

duties listed in the job description, the Director<br />

of Clergy Development shall have the following<br />

authority and duties:<br />

(1) The Director of Clergy Development shall<br />

develop, in consultation with the General<br />

Superintendent, clergy credentialing<br />

policies and procedures including<br />

provisions for Schools of Ministry and<br />

correspondence courses (MCP). Such<br />

policies and procedures shall be subject to<br />

the consideration and final approval of the<br />

Council of Bishops.<br />

(2) Representatives from Higher Education<br />

Schools of Christian Ministries, Clergy<br />

Credentials (Conference Superintendents),<br />

Schools of Ministry, and INE shall be<br />

assembled to form a Clergy Training<br />

Coordinating Committee, which shall be<br />

chaired by the Director of Clergy<br />

Development.<br />

(3) The Director of Clergy Development shall<br />

provide training to Conferences in<br />

developing support networks for clergy.<br />

(4) The Director of Clergy Development shall<br />

review and recommend resources for<br />

Conferences to use in training, counseling,<br />

supporting, and restoring clergy.<br />
