NEPAL
• We continue to search for suitable property to purchase or rent for our congregation
in Kathmandu, which was evicted once again from the place where they were meeting.
Discrimination against Christians makes it quite a challenge to secure a place to meet.
• Last year our national missionary from the Philippines, Ging Barraca, married Tara
Bhandari, a young man from Nepal. They have recently located in Kathmandu to begin
ministry. Tara has a background in restaurant management, and Ging has much
experience working in Kapistorya coffeehouse in Cebu. I am encouraging them to
consider initiating a coffeehouse ministry in Kathmandu.
BANGLADESH
• Much progress has been made on construction of the Holiness Academy and Ministry
Center compound in Dhaka. The students were able to occupy the building at the start
of the new term in January; however, they had to endure several weeks with no electric
power due to delays in installation. This school offers educational opportunities to
nearly 100 children, including day students from local Muslim families, and boarding
students from our church families in remote villages. While the classrooms are usable,
an additional $100,000 is needed to complete the dormitory rooms for boarding
students, kitchen, computer lab, etc.
