encourage the discouraged, give hope to the despairing, healing to the sick, and forgiveness to the
guilty. We must minister the gospel of Isaiah 61:1-3 because we, too, have been anointed as agents of
transformation.
Demonstrative – God is calling us to a new season and a new dimension of “spiritual ministries and
manifestations!” As Paul said in 1 Thess 1:5,
“For our gospel came not unto you in word only but also in power and in the Holy Ghost.”
The world is waiting for—
• Churches that not only preach a sermon on salvation but actually lead people to get saved!
• Churches that not only deliver a discourse on demon possession but actually cast out demons!
• Churches where healing is not just a “homily” but where people are actually delivered from their
sickness and disease by the power of God!
The IPHC must be thoroughly pentecostal in its orthodoxy (doctrine) and in its orthopraxy (life-style). In
order to be relevant and dynamic, we must be pentecostal so that it can be said of us as was said of the
first century church, “They that have turned the world upside down have come hither also”.
There are many things the church must be in order to minister in today’s world. Whatever else it may
possess, the church must be relevant – dynamic – demonstrative. God is calling the IPHC to be this kind
of church in the 21st century because nothing less can effectively address the challenges of our
generation!
LIVE. MOVE. BE.
Out of those three powerful words—Relevant, Dynamic, Demonstrative—came the idea for the Live.
Move. Be. initiatives. It is rooted in the passage in Acts 17.28: “In him we live and move and have our
being…”
This stream of Vision2020 will focus on the core values of the IPHC and what it means to be a disciple of
Jesus Christ in the 21st century. Each year, the focus will be different. By the end of the coming
decade, we will have produced a detailed Scriptural resource on the beliefs and practices of the IPHC for
future generations of believers.
LIVE. MOVE. BE. is the first stream to flow out of the vision for the IPHC given to our Presiding Bishop
on the night of his election to office. Many more streams will come forth over the next ten years and they
will lead us into new vistas of ministry and growth around the world! As we dare to step out in faith and
obedience to the Holy Spirit, He will grace us with powerful results. We will be God’s secret weapon
“unveiled” to reap the end-time harvest! Addendum I
