Chew Boon Hur – Executive Manager, Construction Productivity Centre,<br />

Singapore Building & Construction Authority<br />

Mr Chew graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Nanyang Technological<br />

University. He is currently the executive manager of the Building & Construction Authority’s<br />

Construction Productivity Centre (CPC), which promotes and educates the built environment sector on<br />

available technologies to improve productivity.<br />

Er. Mohd Ismadi – Deputy Director (Engineering Safety), OSH Specialist Department,<br />

Occupational Safety and Health Division, Singapore Ministry of Manpower<br />

Mohd Ismadi is a mechanical engineer and has over 20 years of professional experience in workplace<br />

safety and health, particularly in policies and legislation, management systems, pressure vessel safety<br />

and lifting equipment safety.<br />

Nick Sowden – President, Snorkel Asia and Director of Supply Chain for Snorkel<br />

Nick Sowden joined Snorkel in 2008 as supply chain director, where he developed a more cost-effective<br />

global supply chain and established the manufacturing of Snorkel AWPs in China. In 2009, he was<br />

promoted to vice-president of Snorkel Asia-Pacific and successfully restructured the Snorkel sales<br />

and manufacturing operations in Australia and New Zealand. He joined Snorkel’s global management<br />

board in 2011. In his current role, he is responsible for enhancing the distributor network, developing<br />

sales, after market and manufacturing operations.<br />

Norty Turner – CEO, Riwal<br />

Norty Turner joined Riwal as chief executive officer in March 2012 after a 17-year career with Hertz<br />

Equipment Rental Co. During his time at Hertz, he spent three years in Paris, France, latterly as<br />

vice-president for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Riwal is one of the world’s largest aerial platform<br />

rental companies.<br />

Geoffrey Lee – General Manager, Modern (International) Access & Scaffolding Ltd<br />

Geoffrey Lee’s professional and academic background is in civil engineering, with 30 years’<br />

experience in the construction business, particularly in access and scaffolding products including<br />

MEWPs, MCWPs, metal scaffolding and fall protection systems. He is a key executive in the<br />

Modern Group with operations across China, Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore, managing<br />

a staff of over 300 and an aerial rental fleet of over 2,500 units.<br />

Harry Ho – Immediate Past Chair, Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH)<br />

Singapore Branch<br />

Harry Ho has more than 25 years of experience in occupational safety and health (OSH) in the areas of<br />

auditing, training and consultancy. In the past 15 years, he has conducted numerous third-party audits<br />

on OSH management systems and risk management and assessment in various industrial sectors. He<br />

has also conducted training for senior managers and professional engineers from various industrial<br />

sectors and helped to establish OSH systems for many organisations.<br />

Marina Torres – Marketing & Sales Director, Bravi Platforms<br />

Marina Torres specialises in new business development and major market expansion, and is a key<br />

member of the Bravi Platforms executive team developing sales strategies for Europe, USA, the Middle<br />

East and Asia. Braviisol started out as an installation company and grew to become an equipment<br />

manufacturer to meet an unmet need for machines to work at height, focusing on low-level access<br />

since 2004.<br />

Chris Wraith – Technical Officer, <strong>IPAF</strong><br />

Chris Wraith brings more than 20 years of operational and managerial experience to the access<br />

industry. He is a chartered member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, and holds a<br />

degree in safety and environmental management.<br />

Tim Whiteman – CEO, <strong>IPAF</strong><br />

Tim Whiteman is CEO and managing director of the not-for-profit International Powered Access<br />

Federation (<strong>IPAF</strong>), a position that he took up in 2004. He has 20 years’ experience in the lifting industry,<br />

mainly as a publisher and journalist. He holds a PAL Card (Powered Access Licence) to operate scissor<br />

lifts, self-propelled booms and vehicle-mounted platforms.<br />

Raymond Wat – Regional Manager, <strong>IPAF</strong> South East Asia<br />

Raymond Wat has worked in the MEWP industry for the past 12 years, moving from sales to being an<br />

instructor, and now as <strong>IPAF</strong>’s regional manager promoting MEWP safety in Asia. He is a member of<br />

the Singapore Ministry of Manpower MEWP Work Group and the committee working on the Singapore<br />

MEWP standard.
