Science and Technologies (OEO) was held at the Chemistry Department of Moscow State University (MSU) in Moscow. 72 participants (producers, consumers and investigators) took part in the Workshop. 13 papers focusing on production and application of ozone were presented at this workshop. D.D. Medvedev (Kurchatov Institute, Moscow) in his lecture reported on ozone production by means of the new type of ozone generator which utilized humid air. Usage of special impulse feeding and electrodes allows reaching an ozone concentration of 20 g/m 3 . As emphasized by the author, at the same time many ozone generators successfully operate today in small-sized engines for water purification. Investigators from the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys described a new process using ozone and hydrogen peroxide (peroxone) to treat sulfide concentrates leaching in sulfuric acid medium. The process is effective and carried out under atmospheric pressure and moderate temperatures. This appears to be a much more environmentally friendly process than other techniques available.
