The Sundial Group story began in 1964, when Michael and Diana Chudley
awards & accolades
bought seventeenth century Highgate House as a home for their large
family and subsequently opened the doors of the family home for afternoon
tea and bed and breakfast guests.
In the early 1990s Diana Chudley handed ownership and control of
Highgate House to her children, eight brothers and sisters who had grown
with the business. Tim, Jo and Lucy are the family members responsible for
the day-to-day operation of the company and its continuing success. It is
their commitment and passion that is the driving force behind the expansion
and development of the business, which is proud to be recognised as one
of the most innovative and forward-looking organisations in the
hospitality industry.
Today Sundial Group, and everything the company does, is governed by a set
of core values. Based upon the Chudley family’s desire to treat people as
they, themselves, wish to be treated, they are defined as ‘Professionalism’,

Highgate House is a striking
country mansion in the picturesque
Northamptonshire village of Creaton.
Originally a coaching inn, it has
evolved over the years into a superb
venue for all kinds of events.
Its continued development has been careful to
maintain the beauty of the original building,
successfully combining 17th century charm with
21st century comfort. Additions to the main
house and newer buildings allow Highgate House
to offer over 30 well-appointed meeting
rooms, 5 elegant dining rooms, 98 en-suite
bedrooms and leisure facilities including an
indoor swimming pool, sauna, fitness suite and
all-weather tennis court. The historic, family
atmosphere is strong throughout the estate,
but is perhaps most noticeable in the rooms in
the main house; each containing memories
almost tangible to those within.
By day a dedicated environment for conferencing
and training, by night Highgate House offers
superb cuisine prepared by talented chefs,
and additional relaxation can be found in the
fully stocked bar and games room.
Exceptional standards of food and beverage are

Highgate House has been carefully updated with a

We provide an atmosphere that allows the content
of your event to be absorbed and remembered,
while our trained Event Planners work with you to
guarantee we deliver everything you require.
All of the meeting rooms feature natural
daylight, free WiFi access, furniture and
equipment designed for the task in hand and,
as such, meet the exacting standards demanded
for accreditation by the International
Association of Conference Centres.
Comfort, concentration and maintaining a

Highgate House is renowned both locally
and nationally for the excellent food it
serves its guests. The skilled chefs create
exquisite menus and marry them with
carefully selected wines to excite all
who dine at the venue.
Highgate House is a great setting for either a
corporate or private celebration. The beautiful
dining rooms make the perfect environment for
parties or banquets. The imposing Baronial Hall
is a stunning wood-panelled room, brimming with
old-world charm, while the elegant Drawing Room
and the attractive Library are simply beautiful and
intimate. The largest room at Highgate House,
the Coote suite, is able to accommodate up to
200 guests for a sit-down meal. The combination
of superb food, first-rate service and spectacular
location will make your celebration truly
memorable for all the right reasons.
The kitchen is accredited by the Vegetarian Society,
so our vegetarian options are prepared with the
same care and thought as everything else on the
menu. With a little notice, they can accommodate
any dietary requirement, so you can relax knowing
we will cater for your needs, whatever they may be.

Bed & Breakfast
Highgate House is a great place
to stay. A good night’s sleep and
a hearty breakfast will set you up
for the day ahead.
Guests are assured a restful night in one of the
98 bedrooms, all furnished and equipped with
items of the highest quality. The bedrooms are
located in different parts of the venue, ranging
from the older rooms in the main house to more
modern rooms in other buildings. There is a good
mixture of single, double and family bedrooms
with baths, showers or both.

All our rooms and washrooms
feature excellent toiletries from

Each of the rooms features hot-drink making
facilities, bottled mineral water, iron and ironing
board and direct-dial telephone as well as free
WiFi access. Each bedroom has a 19 inch
flat-screen plasma television which can also be
used as a monitor for laptop computers and a
clock-radio with ipod dock.

You could be forgiven for thinking that
the tranquil setting of Highgate House
means there is nothing to do.
Nothing could be further from the truth...
At Highgate House, guests will find a range of
leisure facilities which include an indoor swimming
pool, sauna, fitness room, floodlit all-weather
tennis and 26 acres of gardens and grounds.
The indoor swimming pool is a great way to
chill out, cool down or work out. Guests enjoy
unrestricted access to the pool, and towels are
provided in the nearby changing room. Likewise
the well-equipped fitness room. Outdoor pursuits
include tennis (court also available for 5-a-side
football), croquet and walking in the grounds.
Teamscapes®, Sundial Group's series of mentally
challenging teambuilding activities, are designed
to promote team working and problem solving.
There are ten different activities available at
Highgate House, each focusing on a different area
of team dynamics. They are responsive to your
needs in that a programme can be tailored to
your specific requirements or can take a broader
view to identify areas that may need development.
They can be also used as icebreakers, or, by
relaxing one or two of the rules, as a fun break
from an intensive session. Specific activity details
are available in our Teamscapes brochure, or online.
It is even possible to earn a national award
accredited by ASET by completing a
specially-designed programme. In addition to
the outdoor activities, three exciting indoor
Teamscapes can also be booked.

The conference facilities at Highgate House are second-to-none and our meeting
package approach to pricing allows for more effective budget control and
maximum value for money.
Day Meeting Package (DMP): An 8-hour non-residential package including use of
meeting facilities, access to leisure facilities, free Wi-Fi access, unlimited
refreshments throughout the day, free car parking and extensive buffet lunch.
Complete Meeting Package (CMP): A 24-hour delegate rate including all of the
above, plus accommodation, breakfast and dinner.

Seven miles from Northampton and situated within 26 acres of
gardens and grounds, Highgate House is easily accessible from
the whole of the UK via the motorway network (M1, M6, M40)
and is well served by fast rail services to Northampton Station
(20 minutes by taxi) and Rugby Station (25 minutes).
There are a number of tourist attractions in the North of the county.
Aside from the beautiful countryside and charming villages, Highgate House
is just a ten minute drive from Althorp House, seat of the Spencer family and
formerly home of Diana, Princess of Wales. To the South of the town just
half an hour from Highgate House is Silverstone racing circuit, host of the
Great British Grand Prix and offering many activities for lovers of all kinds
of motor vehicles.
Also nearby are the beautiful stately homes Kelmarsh Hall, Holdenby House and
Stamford Hall, while Rockingham Castle in Leicestershire, built on the order of
William the Conqueror, is just a 30 minute drive away. Visitors travelling to
Highgate House via the A14 will pass through the Naseby battlefield, site of
the first major battle of the New Model Army.
