Just the facts about backings
Cutting VOC emissions to
improve indoor air quality
Installation without glue
Glue is used in conventional
installation to keep the tiles
in place and prevent gaps
or upcurling during use.
InterfaceFLOR has developed
TacTiles , a revolutionary
gluefree system to install carpet
tiles, which cuts environmental
impacts drastically compared
to traditional glue and virtually
eliminates VOCs.
TacTiles are placed in the
corners of the tiles to connect
them to each other and create
a floating floor. This makes
replacement and uplifting of
individual tiles much easier,
and recycling at end of life
less complicated, as the glue
is not stuck to the backing.
Installation waste from the
packaging of the glue itself is
also eliminated. TacTiles can
be used with our Graphlex ® or
GlasBac ® backing, which offer
superior dimensional stability.
