It boasts original exhibits from the history of the city (36), old images of citizens of Zagreb (39), and the central place is occupied by a miniature model of the Upper Town (37). Across the walls of the Upper Town, in the peaceful park Tuškanac, is the museum of the great Zagreb and Central European writer, Miroslav Krleža. The Archaeological Museum distinguishes itself with the size and variety of its exhibits (460 000), especially from ancient Roman times. There are also special departments for prehistoric times (52), Antiquity (43) and the Middle Ages and a unique Egyptian collection (41). The Museum of Arts and Crafts also has a large number of exhibits (about 160 000), which show the essence of historical material culture in Croatia (40 & 50).
